Price per guest
Limited to 26 guests
3pm - 7pm
Mariana Velásquez, a seasoned food stylist and chef, has worked on dozens of English and Spanish language cookbooks, including James Beard Award winners and Michelle Obama's American Grown. In her visually stunning debut cookbook, COLOMBIANA: A Rediscovery of Recipes and Rituals from the Soul of Colombia just released this June, Mariana has brought her distinctive glamour to her own pages, paying homage to the cuisine of her native country of Colombia blended with elements of style, entertaining and culture. To learn more about Mariana and Colombiana, go to marianavelasquez.com.
For her dinner with us here at Stonewood Farm, Mariana will bring to life the passion that fills the pages of her book. In fact, some of the book’s photos were taken here at Stonewood Farm and Mariana has returned to create a feast!
The evening promises to be a magical one in which guests will be immersed in the stories and rich culinary traditions of Mariana’s native land. In addition to offering a menu (see below) that reflects her unique perspective on Colombian food, we’ll experience her vibrant style with Colombian aperitifs, music, tablescapes and entertaining. To make the experience even more special, Mariana will put her own modern twist on traditional dishes beloved by generations of Colombians by incorporating the bounty of our Market Garden and that of other local farmers, artisans and purveyors.
For Mariana, the best meals are never simply about the food on the table—they are an alchemy of atmosphere, drinks, food and story that complete the experience and make it memorable.
Although we have been in lock down during COVID, Mariana will capture the intrigue of travel through her meal. As we emerge from the isolation, get ready for a gastronomic excursion that will transport you to the Colombian countryside without having to travel too far from home.
