⬩ The Market Garden ⬩

The Market Garden is the root of our organization from which all our community outreach blossoms.

On just 1.75 acres, we grow over 100 varieties of high-quality vegetables and herbs, many of which are unusual or heirloom.

We’re particularly known for our prewashed salad mixes, carefully choosing ingredients for their flavors, textures, and aesthetics. We also grow blueberries, raspberries, peaches, plums, and apples and offer the freshest eggs from our small flock of happy free-range hens.

Our farming methods emphasize modern, thoughtful approaches to small-scale, sustainable agriculture. We are certified organic by both the USDA and the Real Organic Project, ensuring that our customers receive the healthiest, highest quality produce and flowers available without the use of toxic chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds. Likewise, our chickens eat only non-GMO feed supplemented with vegetable scraps from our fields.

We till minimally, rely on simple hand tools for cultivation, embrace cover cropping, and continuously nurture the health of our soil. Most of our food waste is composted for reuse or fed to the chickens. Using these regenerative farming practices, we’re helping to steward the land, mitigate climate change, and produce nutrient-dense food with minimal inputs. In contrast to conventional, large-scale farming, our farming methods have a positive environmental and social impact.

While life on the farm involves routine and ordinary tasks — seeding, cultivating, weeding, hoeing, harvesting, and washing — and demands daily attention, rain or shine, being close to the food we eat, the people who grow it, and the people who eat it nourishes body, mind, and soul.
