⬩ ABOUT OUR FARM TOURS ⬩
Our Farm Tours are the perfect opportunity to learn more about the important role small farms play as anchors of a community. We’re a small, market garden-style farm practicing regenerative farming and addressing local food insecurity. If you are looking to learn more about where your food comes from, how to better connect with nature, and inspire your own farming or gardening aspirations, our Farm Tours are the place to start!
Farm Tours are offered once a month, June through October, and all Tours require advance reservations. Tours are led by our farmers and usually last one hour, followed by lunch in our Cookhouse, a 1860s post-and-beam dairy barn from Canada that we restored and re-erected here on the Farm. You can reserve your place with a suggested minimum donation of $50.00 per person. Each Tour is limited to 30 guests.

VISITOR HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Farm Safety. When visiting, we advise you to wear clothing appropriate for a day out on the Farm. You may encounter uneven terrain; farm equipment; and unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells. We encourage you to explore but ask you to respect our farmers’ work as well as our chickens and crops by keeping a safe distance and staying on designated paths.
Please do not pet the chickens. Whenever possible, and always before eating, clean your hands by washing and lathering vigorously for at least 20 seconds before rinsing. Wipes and sanitizers do not provide adequate protection. Children under 5, pregnant women, and individuals with heart disease or compromised immune systems should exercise caution while visiting any farm..
Come ready for a day outdoors. Please come appropriately dressed for the weather and for an active afternoon. All guests must wear closed-toed shoes. We suggest bringing a water bottle with you and using adequate sun protection. Lightweight pants are more suitable than shorts even on hot days. Reusable water bottles can be filled up in the Cookhouse.
Children are welcome. Our Tour and lunch are designed with adults in mind; we leave it to your discretion to decide if your child will engage with the Tour. Young adults, ages 12 and up, must purchase a ticket to participate, and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
Weather. All Tours are rain or shine, except during thunder, lightning, and blizzards. To find out if a Tour has been canceled due to inclement weather, please email info@stonewoodny.org.
