Stonewood Farm offers numerous opportunities for authentic connection between the farm and our community.
Through our various on-farm community gatherings and volunteer program, we bring individuals and local groups from diverse social and economic backgrounds to the farm to create a sense of belonging and foster a dialogue about the essential role of small-scale sustainable farming and the health benefits of eating high-quality, fresh food.
Through our on-farm pop-up sales, fundraising dinners and classes, we share the bounty of our harvest with our supporters while sharing information about the importance of equity in our food system and how they can participate.
Through our partnerships with other local, like-minded organizations, we’re creating a more vibrant and inclusive community. We’re working with Lyall Community Church, the local chapter of Meals on Wheels, St. Thomas Ameina’s Food of Life Pantry, and the Town of Dover to help provide for our food insecure neighbors, particularly the often-unnoticed senior population.
We’re partnering with Dutchess County’s local 4-H Beef Club to educate aspiring young farmers, thereby supporting the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs. We’re working with the Cardinal Hayes Home for children because we believe no one in our community should be forgotten.
