Dinner with Cookbook Author Colu Henry | Friday May 15, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
We are delighted to welcome cookbook author and food writer Colu Henry to Stonewood Farm for a very special one-night dinner, presented in partnership with Dutchess Magazine.
Colu is the author of Back Pocket Pasta, Colu Cooks: Easy Fancy Food, and her newest cookbook, Better at Home: Recipes for Big Nights In, published this spring. Her approach to cooking is one that many of us find deeply familiar and appealing—unfussy, generous, and full of pleasure, rooted in good ingredients and the belief that a beautiful meal should not require a great deal of effort or stress. As a Hudson Valley neighbor, she also brings a genuine appreciation for what this region grows and produces.
On Friday, May 15, we will gather at Stonewood Farm for an intimate evening that begins with a 6:30 PM reception, followed by a shared dinner in the Cookhouse. For this special occasion, Chef Kristen and Colu will collaborate on a spring menu inspired by the early harvests from our Market Garden and shaped by the spirit that both of them bring to the table: seasonal cooking that is generous, relaxed, and grounded in place.
The evening will also feature wines chosen by Erika DaSilva, owner of Ten Mile Table, whose thoughtful selections will complement the menu and the season beautifully.
We are especially pleased to partner with Dutchess Magazine, which has long celebrated the people, landscapes, and food culture of our region. Copies of Colu’s newest book, Better at Home: Recipes for Big Nights In, will be available for purchase during the evening, and Colu will be happy to sign and personalize books for guests.
This dinner is intentionally small, just 26 seats will be available, so that the evening feels relaxed and convivial, with plenty of opportunity for conversation around the table. Seats are reserved through a suggested minimum donation of $250 per person, with all proceeds supporting Stonewood Farm’s community outreach programs.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be a truly lovely spring evening on the Farm.
To make a donation and reserve a seat at the May 15th Special Dinner, please select the number of spots you’d like and then click the DONATE button. We ask that you read and accept the “fine print” at checkout.
Before donating, please note that dietary restrictions and allergies must be communicated in advance. As Stonewood Farm is not a restaurant and the evening will feature a set menu, we are unable to accommodate last-minute dietary changes. Please note that we are unable to accommodate vegan diets for this particular meal. If you have any questions, please contact chef@stonewoodny.org.
