Halloween is right around the corner, and we have a delicious “all treats, no tricks” box of themed baked goods ready for your Halloween weekend!
Kristen and Gabby will be in the Cookhouse kitchen whipping up some spooky treats, and each box will include:
Four cider-jam thumbprint skull cookies
Two of Sebastian’s Peanut Butter Spider Cookies
Two Crescent Moon/Cat Eye chocolate mocha cupcakes
Four pumpkin seed-maple popcorn bars
Two carrot cake crème pies (yes, with eyes!)
Of course, one of the best parts of sharing these treats with you is that we’ll once again be partnering with our friends at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children.
The residents at Cardinal Hayes have differing levels of ability, but nothing inhibits these inspiring young people. With markers, paints, glue, ribbons, stickers, and stamps made from extra wheelchair pieces, they’ll create unique, handmade designs for each box, making every one a little bit different.
We’ve also found a way to include our local Meals on Wheels recipients in the celebration. For every Halloween Treat Box sold, we’ll include a custom Cardinal Hayes craft and a Stonewood Farm baked treat with a Halloween Meals on Wheels delivery. It’s our way of extending the celebration beyond the farm and sharing a little Halloween joy with our neighbors.
Halloween “all treats, no tricks" Boxes will be available for pickup on Friday, October 30, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Farm. We’ll also have additional goodies available for purchase that day.
Only the Halloween Treat Boxes are available for pre-purchase. You can pre-order any of the additional items below by emailing chef@stonewoodny.org. Pre-orders close on Tuesday, October 27.
Monster meringues — $5.00/bag
Take-and-bake apple crisp — $12.00/each (serves 4)
Brown butter nut cookies — $2.75/each
Fresh-pressed apple cider — $6.00/12-ounce bottle or $14.00/quart
Winter squash soup — $12.00/pint or $22.00/quart
All proceeds support The Giving Garden, the edible garden we created at the Millbrook campus of Cardinal Hayes Home, as well as our other community outreach programs.
