The March 21st Garden Talk, Garden Bed Prep and Soil Health 101, will cover agricultural practices such as tilling and raised-bed preparation, fertility management, pest and disease management, spring bed preparation, and end-of-season bed care, with a focus on soil health throughout.
The April 25th Garden Talk, Growing to Give, explores practical, community-centered gardening, what to grow, how to grow it successfully, and how to share the harvest through community fridges and mutual aid networks. We’ll go through some of the basics, such as what conditions and equipment are needed to start seeds and which plants do better transplanted or direct sown. We’ll also share some of our personal favorites and talk about the things you can do with an abundant harvest.
