Autumn Inspired Soups with Chef Daniel

$125.00
Sold Out

Sunday, October 9th, 10am - 2pm

Few dishes can fill, comfort, and satisfy like a big bowl of hearty soup. Good soup is easy to make, but great soup requires a bit of know-how. Once you master the basic techniques, you can make a host of variations and create a pot of deliciousness in under an hour any night of the week!

After touring our Market Garden and harvesting your own fresh produce with Farmer Ellie’s assistance, Chef Daniel will show you how to transform these everyday ingredients into a variety of soups to please every palate. In this hands-on class, he’ll teach you the basics of soup construction. You’ll learn to jump start your soup with a quick stock; get tips for roasting vegetables to add; use herbs and other seasoning to boost flavor; and discuss the best way to thicken and puree soups, add grains and dairy, and garnish soups for presentation, texture, and flavor. You’ll also have the opportunity to flex your culinary chops as you learn to make beautiful knife cuts; the art of mise en place is the professional skill every home cook needs.

Once we’re done with the morning’s work, we’ll add a freshly harvested salad and homemade bread to your liquid creations and head into our beautiful Cookhouse dining room for lunch. Of course, the meal will be paired with the perfect glass of wine. And you’ll take with you the recipes you made so you can experiment at home.

Thank you! We hope to see you in our kitchen!

Please include your phone number in the email so that we may call you to discuss the options we can offer.
